Weekly Newsletters

Week 15: November 29th - December 3rd 
* Winter Show is next Wednesday 12/8 & Thursday 12/9 * 
* ParentSquare about Adopt-A-Family will be coming out very soon -- Due Friday, Dec. 10th * 

- Students will be beginning Module 10: Tell A Tale in Language Arts 
- We will be finishing up our Unit 1 in Math and prepare to take our first test next week 
- In Writing, we are continuing to summarize the main events from our class novel "Eating Enchiladas" 
- For Science and History, we are
 kicking off our Country Climate Research Report with almost daily practice on this report.
 Students selected countries last week. Mostly all of this report will be completed at school, however, the Student Choice Assignment is something intended to be started and finished at home. There is a copy of this report and its contents in the Dragon Binder. Students may be taking parts of this report home to be finished at times, but must be started at school first to make sure the work matches the assignment instructions accurately.

* This week we will having Music practice M-TH in the afternoons (in addition to the morning) to prepare for the Winter Show next week. 







Week 14: November 15th - 19th
* This Friday is the Thanksgiving Feast starting at 11:00 — All Families are Welcome! Please see the Pie Sign Up on PS - We still need around 19 pies *
*Thanksgiving Break: 11/22 - 11/26*

- Students will be finishing up our class novel “Eating Enchiladas” this week.

Week 11: October 25th - 29th

Week 10: October 18th - 22nd
___ Snack Project Sales Day - This Thursday, Oct. 21st ___
** Due to Snack Project being this week, students will be working on the project much more in order to be ready-- Math homework will be mostly review due to this & NO Reading or Math HW on Thursday **

* Practice with money -- both addition and subtraction (during Snack Project)

* Finish "Why the Statue of Liberty Turns Green" story in Language Arts & complete the science experiment at the end of the story

Current Projects:
--- Snacks are Due tomorrow, Monday 10/18 or as soon as they arrive - Thank you for all the sign ups and donations thus far 😊 Students will be working on this project more than usual in order to prepare for Day of Sales. Please join us on Wednesday for Flag Salute as team Speakers will present about the Snack Project
---- If students are interested, there will be a first come, first volunteer opportunity on Friday, Oct. 22nd at the Family Movie Night. Students can help set out snacks and take money and give change for a 15 minute time block each. Only two students per time block, with a total of 6 will be needed. Once the movie starts, sales will end so everyone can enjoy the movie!

** Please make sure to complete the EM card information (on ParentSquare), donate to the Annual Appeal if you can, check myschoolbucks weekly for updates, and complete the parent survey when you have the opportunity!

​Current Project:
--- Snack Project is continuing to take off, students worked to calculate the total numbers from the surveys last week and will really dive into creating their team flyers, data consultants will work on their graphs, and our big focus will be figuring out what final items to sell and their prices so that we make sure to make a profit. Expect to have the snack sign ups on ParentSquare hopefully by the middle of this week.
If interested, students can volunteer to help sell our extra snacks at the Family Movie Night on Friday, October 22nd. Students will help out for 15 minutes and we will stop at the start of the movie. Students will need to get parent permission , form to be passed out later.




Week 8: October 4th - 8th

--- Tie Dye Shirts - Tie-Dye Shirts ARE READY!!! They turned out great... Students will receive them on Monday! Let's celebrate by wearing our Tie-Dye shirts on Tuesday, Sept. 21st!
--- Pet Plant Project - Students working to review plant research and care to determine/vote on the best plant for each team

** Last Thursday and Friday, our class discussed and reviewed recess and lunch play expectations/rules. We've had some conflicts arise last week and needed to cancel soccer on Friday for both 3rd and 4th grade. Please support me and the school by discussing with your student about kind, respectful, and safe ways to address conflicts with others at school.
